What counts as read this year
A book counts when it is on your Read shelf and its date read falls in the year. In the sample library:
- 17 books on the Read shelf have a 2026 date read: 17 books read this year, 5,776 pages.
- 2 more read books have no date read, so they count in no year; the page names them so you can fix the dates.
- 5 books on the to-read shelf don't count; they are on the last card as your pile.
Books you are currently reading are left out until you mark them read with a date.

Do audiobooks count?
Yes, if they are on your Read shelf on Goodreads with a date read. The cards count shelves, not formats.
Can I count a past year?
Yes. Pick any of the six most recent years with dated books.
Why is my count different from my reading challenge?
A book only counts here with a date read in the year. Fix missing dates on Goodreads and export again.
Is it free?
