Which stats you get, and how they are counted
Every number comes from diary.csv in your export. A film counts in the year of its watch date. Ratings use only the films you rated; a blank rating is left out, not counted as zero. The decade is the film's release year rounded down.
The sample diary's rating spread, worked through:
| Stars | Films | Stars counted |
|---|---|---|
| 2.5 | 7 | 17.5 |
| 3 | 6 | 18 |
| 3.5 | 15 | 52.5 |
| 4 | 15 | 60 |
| 4.5 | 8 | 36 |
| 5 | 9 | 45 |
That is 229 stars over 60 rated films, an average of 3.8. The other 4 films in the year have no rating and are named in a note under the cards.
Questions people ask next
What do these free stats leave out?
Directors, cast, genres and runtimes. The export does not carry them, so no tool that reads only the export can show them. Everything here comes from what you logged yourself.
Can I see stats for past years?
Yes. The buttons above the cards switch between the six most recent years in your diary.
Is my diary uploaded anywhere?
No. The export is read on your device; nothing leaves it.
Does this need a public profile?
No. It reads the file you export, so a private profile works the same.
